LIVING AFTER TREATMENT

  • Follow up - to check if you have any problems or notice any new symptoms. These will probably continue for at least 5 years.
  • Differences emotions – after treatment you are likely to experience a number of different emotions. These feeling maybe difficult to control and difficult to express them.
  • Difficulty swallowing – radiotherapy and chemotherapy can make your throat very sore and it will make you have difficulty swallowing for a while.
  • Loss of taste – the drugs that are used in the treatment will affect your taste.
  • A dry mouth – it can make eating and talking very uncomfortable. Water can help and you are advised to use water to alleviate the symptoms of dry mouth when eating and talking.
  • Hearing problems – you may be having hearing loss for a while.
