Professor Datin Dr. Sherina Mohd Sidik start her tertiary education at Universiti Malaya (UM) and graduated in 1993 in Medicine; MMed (Family Medicine) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), 2000; PhD from the University of Auckland, 2010 in Community Health. She started her career as a medical officer and then as a family medicine specialist at the Ministry of Health (MOH) in the last 8 years. She joined Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) as a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences in 2001. In 2010, she was promoted to the position of Professor. Her areas of expertise are in the Community Mental Health and Family Medicine.

Prof. Dr. Sherina involved in teaching and learning activities for undergraduate and postgraduate students programs. Among undergraduate students, majoring involved is medicine, nursing, and occupational and environmental health. The courses involved in her teaching are Health Assessment, Principles of Health, Professional Development Module, Community Medicine, Clinical Psychiatry Posting, General Psychiatry, Health Research, Non-Communicable Diseases Epidemiology and Adult Health. To date, she has supervised and advised a total of 48 undergraduate students and 25 postgraduate students (Master and PhD). In order to enhance the knowledge and latest information about its areas of expertise, she participated in the conference and presenting her research findings at both international and local. She is very committed and actively publishes research and has successfully published more than 100 articles in refereed journals as well as books and book chapters. In addition, there are also many other publications in the form of proceedings, modules and reference materials for teaching. She has contributed ideas and expertise in coordinating teaching modules for students in UPM. She was very persistent in getting the grant research projects either at the university, national and international level. Her efforts in research have received awards and recognition by international organizations such as Reviewer and Recognition Award by the Medical Journal of Australia (2014) and research awards by the Doctoral Award & PRESS Fund, University of Auckland (2010).

Since the beginning of its involvement in research, she has begun to play a role as a manuscript reviewer for several journals and international agencies. She has extensive experience in reviewing and evaluating a manuscript. To date, almost 50 research manuscripts that have been evaluated and reviewed by her. Meanwhile at a national level, she was also active as a reviewer of the manuscript (journals, books and research papers), external and internal assessor, member of the board of editors, judge for research presentation, interviewer, speaker and guest editor.

Prof. Dr. Sherina has extensive administrative experience. Among them is Head of Unit, Department of Community Health UPM (2005-2007), Member of the Senate Library Committee (2011-2014), Member of the Senate Teachers Selection Committee (2012-2014), Member of the Senate of Universiti Putra Malaysia (2011-2014), Lifetime Member of the Malaysian Medical Association, Family Medicine Society Malaysia, and over 40 other committees participated actively. She was also a visiting professor at Mahidol University, Thailand in 2013-2014. In 2015, she underwent a sabbatical program at the University of Oxford, United Kingdom. She is currently a lecturer in the Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UPM. Beginning July 1, 2016, she was entrusted as a Deputy Director to lead Cancer Resource & Education Center (CaRE), UPM.
