Serdang, 11th February 2015 – Cancer Resource & Education Center (CaRE) had been organized an education program entitled “Women Cancer : latest screening method in Malaysia”. This program was held on 10th February 2015 at Lecture Hall 3, Faculty of Medicine & Health Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia from 9.00 am till 11.00 am. Dr. Andi Anggeriana Andi Asri has been invited as a guest speaker on the day. She was Consultant of Gynaecological Oncologist and Consultant of Obstetrician & Gynaecology Serdang Hospital and Deputy Director of CaRE. According to Dr. Andi, cancer is silent killer, but if the cancer can be detected at the early stage, chances to be cured is 100%. She also informed that 70% - 75% of cancer patients does not have risk factor, which means anybody in this world have the chances to get cancer. However, women in Malaysia should not be worried because there were lots of method can be used to detect cancer. The most important things was to create an awareness to do an early cancer screening among the Malaysians. If every people in Malaysia have the sense of awareness, percentage of cancer patients could be reduce.
